Back to all ProjectsSome houses are limited by their footprint. This one was limited by its imagination. What began as a small cottage-style bungalow in the heart of the Upper Beaches has been rebuilt into something far more substantial — a wide, generous home with dramatically raised ceilings, a rear and side addition, and a fully underpinned lower level that turned dead space into living space.
The finishing package throughout is uncompromising, and the entire house is automated: lighting, climate, audio and security all live behind a single iPad interface. Dovetail worked directly with the homeowner on the interior design, which meant the finishes, the millwork and the technology were all coordinated by the same hand that was building the house, no gaps between the drawing and the delivery.
The market answered quickly. The home sold over asking in under seven days.
